Teamwork makes the scream work! SPOOKtacular is a huge event that reaches several hundred families in the surrounding area. It requires more than a skeleton crew, and we need individual and group volunteers to help before, during, and after the event. Businesses, make this part of your CSR strategy!
The Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® Mobile Dental Unit returns this year and helps make oral health education and dental screenings fun! When children visit the dental van they are greeted by friendly volunteers, and a reassuring environment to help make the experience easy and enjoyable. Our van visits feature engaging games and videos that educate and entertain children as they await their free dental screening. How do our dental vans operate? Colgate's mobile dental vans measure 32 feet long, nearly the size of a mobile home! There are 2 child-sized dental chairs aboard, so we can screen 2 children at a time. Children up to 12 years of age can receive free dental screening with parent or guardian consent. The average dental screening lasts approximately two minutes. Our free screenings are visual examinations conducted inside the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® mobile dental vans by volunteer dental professionals. Parents and guardians receive screening results, and a referral to local dentists if needed. After the screening, children take home learning materials, Colgate® kid's toothpaste and toothbrush, and brushing instructions to help build healthy habits at home.
SPOOKtacular is our 14th annual signature event to promote the importance of high-quality early care, education, and our mission "to lead, advocate and collaborate with others to ensure the wellbeing of children, ages birth to five."
Whether you can only work a few hours or all day, we are seeking volunteers to help set up tents, tables, games and activities; and then help out hosting an activity, serving treats and lunch, or filling in where needed.
Employee volunteerism, as a practice of corporate social responsibility, aids businesses by strengthening employee satisfaction and retention, and lets customers know that you support the causes that are important to them.
